We have been thrilled that Val Wilson won the Multimedia Award in the recent Victorian Community History Awards. This was for the research she has done for her website on the pioneer graves in the Mornington Cemetery. This award came on top of an award she received for the same website from the National Trust in conjunction with the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council’s Heritage Awards in April this year.
I think Val would want to include the work Murray Adams has helped her get the website up and running. Murray has put much time into helping bring Val’s research to life.
Also at the Victorian Community History Awards, our publication Mornington Heritage Walk received a commendation. Although the work for this was collaborative, Vicky Sapkin had the vision and tenacity to see this project through.
